Update on Zach’s Peeing | Autism PDD

I hope you get some answers.  I don't know about the med thing, but hope you can get some answers soon!  I might get a couple of opinions from a couple of different docs before I decided to do the exploratory surgery.  Good luck and keep us posted.

Well its back to the Dr this Morning,Zach's Problem is getting worse, and there was no Infection,He Peed in his pants yesterday at School,He has NEVER wet his Pants before!!,so this is a big deal!

When I heard this, I called the Drs offis to ask for the results of his test,The Nurse said It looked Ok to her ,but the Dr hadn't seen it , they said to bring him in anyway.

The thing is his stress is through the roof, and the Dr had mentioned that he may have to be put to sleep if it didn't get better,so they could check it out.I don't want to put him threw that ,if it is all Stress related.

I will not go with my GPs Recommendations ,but Ask him to call Zach's Dev Ped for Advice,Do you think Medication for stress would help this problem???,I Know your not Drs but what Im asking is..

Would you let them put him to sleep and insert a camera, wich I know will be painful (for a few days after)I know i had it done!!!,or would you try Meds for stress,Something we have been trying to hold off on as much as Possible

Thanks ,Linda

My son takes prozac for severe anxiety, and it has helped a lot. I think you will want to see a child psychiatrist for medication. Talk to your Reg. Doc for referrals. Is the stress from School? IF so,you might want to talk to them also.

I think sedating him and checking him out physically seems to be a drastic step at this point in the game.  I would also wait with medication until I could see if I could get to the bottom of the stress/anxiety issue and intervene appropriately.

These checklists might help you make observations about his anxiety/stress:

NorwayMom39385.5184606481Sorry about the broken links.  It's really annoying that web addresses get corrupted when stored on the forum.  I just removed the extra blank spaces in the addresses, so they should work now.

I Thank you all for your Help,I called his ped and got a appointment for tomorow,His Family doc is setting up an appointment with a urologist but I hope to have some answers before then ,I will not let them do the exploratory surgery unless it is the last resort.

I have a meeting at school today to see if we can manage his stress levels better there,i will not go the medication rout until we are sure that we have tried everything else.

Norway Mom , thanks for the links ,But I cant get the top two to work.

Linda
